About Lake Advisors

Built on a Simple Belief:
Families Deserve an Advocate,
Not a Salesperson

Lake Advisors was founded to give families what large institutions rarely offer, an independent fiduciary who knows the family, honors its intentions, and stays for the long term.

Why We Exist

"The families who preserve wealth across generations aren't the ones with the most sophisticated structures: they're the ones with the most trusted stewards."

Lake Advisors was founded after years of watching a familiar pattern repeat itself: families with carefully drafted trusts and capable investment managers, yet no one at the table whose only job was the family itself. Corporate trustees rotated officers every few years. Investment firms served the portfolio, not the plan. And the intentions behind the documents, the reasons the wealth existed at all, slowly went unspoken.

We built Lake Advisors to fill that seat. As an independent trustee and family office advisor, we hold no products, earn no commissions, and answer to no institution. Our only role is to understand what a family is trying to accomplish across generations, and to make sure every structure, distribution, and decision serves it.

Today we serve as trustee, co-trustee, and strategic advisor to families navigating complex trusts, liquidity events, operating businesses, and the quieter but harder work of preparing the next generation to lead.

What Independence Makes Possible

01

No Products, No Commissions

We sell nothing and manage no proprietary funds. Every recommendation is judged by one standard: whether it serves the family's long-term interests.

02

One Relationship, Not a Rotation

Families work with the same principal year after year. No reassigned trust officers, no re-explaining the family's history to a new face every few years.

03

The Whole Family, Not Just the Balance Sheet

We steward human capital alongside financial capital: governance, education, and communication that prepare heirs to receive well, not just receive.

What an Engagement Looks Like

Every family is different. Every engagement begins the same way: by listening.

1

Discover

A confidential conversation about the family's structures, goals, and concerns, and whether we're the right fit.

2

Assess

A thorough review of trust documents, governance, and the existing advisory team to map what's working and what's at risk.

3

Design

A tailored stewardship plan: fiduciary roles, reporting cadence, distribution philosophy, and education priorities.

4

Steward

Ongoing trusteeship and advisory: consistent oversight, clear communication, and continuity through every transition.
